Visit to Our Army Alma Mater to Strengthen Strategic Alliances: Presentation of the Institutional Coin and Brigadier General Insignia

During an executive meeting, Brigadier General Luis Fernando Salgado, Director of the General José María Córdova Military Cadet School, presented the institution’s commemorative coin to Brigadier General (Ret.) Milton Orlando Vargas Mariño. In describing the coin, he highlighted the four fundamental pillars in the training of future Army officers, as well as the core principles and values that guide them: leadership, discipline, knowledge, respect, loyalty, transparency, and commitment to the nation — the solid foundations of conduct for every future Army officer.

During the visit, the Brigadier General insignia was also received, represented by the Military School’s shield and the two golden suns, a rank of high hierarchy within the Republic.

This symbolic gesture underscores not only General Salgado’s commitment and leadership at the head of the Military School, but also his significant contribution to Colombia’s security and defense. It likewise reflects the respect and admiration for members of the active reserve, reaffirming the importance of strengthening strategic alliances for the benefit of the Army and the country.
